Origins of Coffee Sheep farmers noticed that sheep that ate the little red berry of this plant would stay up at night and play, while other sheep that did not eat the berry, would sleep. Introduced to the monasteries thereafter, the monks roasted the berry and slowly drank the brew all day long so they could stay up long hours to transcribe and adorn the Bible pages. Caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate and cocoa) causes:

The most reversible cause of benign dysrrhythmias (atrial and ventricular). 6. Increased gastric acids and pepsin thus increasing the risk of ulcers (gastric and duodenal). 7. Skeletal abnormalities, damage to DNA and chromosomal aberrations, decreased intrauterine fetal growth and lower birth weights in newborns. To be avoided in pregnancy. 8. Decreased probability of pregnancy. 9. Increased mental speed but impairs motor coordination. 10. Increased blood coagulation. 11. Marked and prolonged raises in blood sugar (bad for diabetics), aggravates hypoglycemia. 12. Raised cholesterol (LDL) and increased levels of circulating free fatty acids. 13. Disturbed Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep. 14. Increased risk of hip fractures. 15. Increased risk of heart burn (GERD), aspiration and chronic cough. “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19,20 KJV
