They generally do not contain enough sugar and electrolytes to replenish the systems of serious exercisers. And at $1.89 or more for eight ounces, they are a very costly form of hydration. But, they may have some value for people who don’t drink their eight glasses of water a day. Actually one ounce of water for every kilogram (2.2 pounds=one kilogram) of body weight a day is recommended for optimal hydration.
